Prepare Windows NSIS and Linux AppImage/tar.gz packages. Build on the existing Linux Gitea runners when a stable tag or release is created. Use public releases on this repository as the update source. Add periodic and manual update checks, notifications, and safe explicit installation. Verify release artifacts and document unsigned Windows and unpacked Linux limits. Do not replace the running app or user data.
Implemented the updater for this public repository, portable Windows capture startup, and existing UI update controls. Typechecks, 227 behavior tests, 20 route comparisons, offline update UI/IPC checks, and seven release publisher tests pass. Windows and Linux cross-build verification is running in the pinned Wine container. The workflow will build main pushes without publication and publish stable tags/releases through tea. No installed app was replaced. Windows gameplay and a real two-version installer update remain unverified.
Commit
c2b4ae2and CI run 1 passed the Windows/Linux build and uploaded all six package/update files: https://git.it-lampe.de/rexlManu/garmith-app/actions/runs/1 . The real tea CLI fixture then found the release tag JSON key is tag-_name; this is fixed and repeat publication now has an actual CLI test. Follow-up checks also cover installer errors after a ready update. Final CI verification is pending. Native Windows gameplay and a two-version update are tracked separately in #19. The installed app remains unchanged.Completed in

It ran typechecks, 228 behavior tests, eight release tests, both x64 package builds, six artifact uploads, temporary-token tea authentication, and an isolated real-tea publication/idempotence fixture. Local checks also passed 20 routes, updater UI/IPC, staged Linux capture/OCR/permissions/settings, and a real AppImage updater probe with checksum rejection and temporary file replacement. Stable tags and published releases are configured to publish through tea; no actual release/tag was created during this task. Windows gameplay, unsigned installer acceptance, and full two-version upgrades remain in #19. The installed release and user data are unchanged. Release instructions: docs/releases.md.
